In a world where we have been driven by the imperative need for immediate response, tourist establishments with personal attention have to update ourselves by looking for new ways to interact with our customers as quickly as possible. With this starting point in mind, this 2017 season at Altafulla Mar Hotel we have incorporated an internal instant messaging service based on a platform used worldwide: Whatsapp.
This new service, which obviously does not require a prior instruction booklet, and which can be set up from the time of check-in until the time of check-out (respecting the privacy and data protection policy of our guests), provides an emergency solution to any query that a customer may have during their stay, be it internal (remembering the closing time of the swimming pool, booking a table at the Gastrobar or knowing the start time of the musical performance among many other questions) or external (a train timetable to return to the hotel, a gastronomic recommendation to the city of Tarragona while strolling around or an immediate taxi service).
Through this communication link between guest and us, the client receives information directly to their mobile phone about internal activities of interest to them 3 hours before they start (our weekly zumba class, for example) and can plan their time so as not to miss the opportunity to enjoy it.
In the same way, and faced with the saturation of electronic communication that we receive on a daily basis (newsletters and mass informative spams via email), the client can decide whether their communication via Whatsapp with us ends when they leave the hotel or whether they want to continue receiving a message from time to time informing them of new promotions that are coming out to the establishment throughout the year (never more than 3 messages per year).
The acceptance of this new service has been very great among our visitors and has meant a new starting point for the personal relationship that we like to maintain with them, both before and during their stay, personalising the relationship as if they were staying at our home, because at the end of the day we all like to be looked after and not lacking anything when we travel.
